John McGinlay nominates Wanderers' Chairman for Ice Bucket Challenge!

BOLTON NUTS EXCLUSIVE:

John McGinlay has sensationally nominated the Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside to complete the "Ice Bucket Challenge" in support of the charity ALS.

Super John today uploaded a video to his Facebook account of himself being drenched with buckets of ice cold water. The ex Wanderers striker, who yesterday publicly criticised Dougie Freedman and the current crisis on BBC Radio Manchester, first nominated his four sons to take on the challenge before finally giving the BWFC chairman a 24 hour deadline to complete the challenge himself.

Watch this space to see if Mr Gartside will accept the challenge and post his own video online!

Bolton most likely to beat Leeds!

Guess what? Bolton have an almost 50% chance of winning this weekend when they travel to Leeds for what is set to be a massive game for both clubs.

Forget new players, manager decisions, tactics and latest injuries. I am focusing on nothing but the stats with everything from goals scored and conceded, home and away, wins loses and draws all chucked in a calculator and churned out the other side to give us chance to know the result before a ball is even kicked.

Let's get started!

Bolton and Leeds are almost inseparable, on paper, both having won 40%, drawn 20% and lost 40% of their last 20 games (based on Leeds home and Bolton away games). Leeds have lost their last two home games in a row whilst Bolton have lost their last two away games - no wonder the bookies have this clash pegged as a draw.

Leeds United have kept a clean sheet in only 6 out of their last 20 home games. Based on this you might say there is is a 70% chance that Bolton will score. To corroborate that estimation it is noteworthy that Bolton have scored in 75% of their last 20 away games. But, unfortunately, the exact opposite is true of Leeds who score in 75% of all home games whilst Bolton conceded goals in 14 of their last 20 matches away from home. So the chances are that both teams will score at some point!

To find any difference in the two sides you have to look at current form based on their last 20 games overall (rather than home and away) - this is where a more interesting, and maybe surprising, story lies. Despite Bolton's horrendous start to the season the Wanderers have still only conceded 21 goals in 20 games compared to Leeds' 36 goals against during the same period. Bolton have also won 8, drawn 7 and lost 5, while Leeds slumped to 12 defeats in that time, picking up only 5 victories and 3 draws. Bolton are also miles ahead on goals for, scoring 29 times in total compared to a measly 18 goals for Leeds.

To sum up, if recent history is anything to go by, then it is Bolton who could be most likely to rediscover some sort of form this weekend as they hope to end the rot once and for all. When all the sums are done we discover that in fact a Bolton win (at 44% likely) is the most likely outcome. However a Leeds win (30% likely) is in second place which means that a draw could be the safest bet this time around (although a draw is statistically most unlikely at only 26%).

If this were possible, I would guess that Bolton would win this game by 1.5 goals to 1.

The fans have been voted as Bolton's Man of the Match in last Tuesday's 2-3 win against Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road.

The fans have had to put up with a dismal performance due to Dougie Freedman's tactics and lack of attacking pace and bog standard defending (not forgetting Dougie's team choice and substitutions) just like in the League Cup round 1 game against Bury at the Macron Stadium where Bolton again won by 3 goals to 2.

In second place came Jermaine Beckford where he managed to score 2 goals against Crewe to keep us in the cup.

Beckford scored on the 92nd minute with a right footed shot from the centre of the box into the top left corner from a Neil Danns free kick.  Marcus Haber then went on to equalise for Crewe (2-2) on the 98th minute in the dying seconds of stoppage time to earn them extra time, Beckford then went on to score again to make it 2-3 scoring 17 minutes into extra time to secure the victory by flicking the ball under Crewe goalkeeper Ben Garratt.

Below are the full results of our poll:
23% - The Fans
15% - Beckford
13% - Freedman
10% - Lonergan
8% - Lee Chung-Yong
5% - Pratley

3% - Feeney

Adam Bogdan has been voted as Bolton's man of the match in last Saturday's 2-1 away loss against Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium.

Bogdan played 37 minutes in the first half until Craig Mackail-Smith muscled his way into the 18-yard box and scoring for Brighton and at the same time injuring Bogdan leaving him with a large gash above his left eye.  Bogdan was then replaced by Andy Lonergan who played the remainder of the match.

In second place came Hayden White in our man of the match poll against Middlesbrough.  White played the full 90 minutes and defended brilliantly but unfortunately, the game finished up with another loss (2-1 to the home team)
.

Third place came Matt Mills who was the only goal scorer for Bolton.

None of our members voted for the rest of the team.....Something tells me that the members at Bolton Nuts were not very happy with the way Bolton played.....Over to you Dougie.....

Below are the full results of our poll:
57% - Adam Bogdan
36% - Hayden White
7% - Matt Mills
0% - Tim Ream

Breaking News From Sky Sports .....

Sheikh Casha Fatwalleta has today completed the buyout of Bolton Wanderers FC and in his first act of business he arrived at the Macron Stadium in his personal helicopter accompanied by members of his cousin King Doshi Bigabucks elite Special Forces Unit who carried out a lightning two pronged assault inside the main offices. Our sources understand that Phil Gartside, Douglas Freedman, Leonard Lawrence and several other lesser members of Moonshift Staff were escorted from the building to a waiting cargo container. One of our sources alleges that the container was marked 'To Timbuktu, one way only.' Other reports allege that it carried the international symbols for radioactive and toxic waste and printed instructions that require the container to remain sealed until at least 2214. The container itself was attached to a lorry that was last seen heading for the Port of Liverpool and we understand it is due to be dispatched on the newly christened SS Syncascot which is registered in Panama and is believed to be sailing to Timbuktu.

In further developments at the club we are informed that the Sheikh has also dispatched two other units to the Isle of Man with instructions to wake one Mr E 'Rip Van Winkle' Davies or come back with proof that he is in fact a cleverly designed hologram whose programming broke down in 2007 and has not functioned since.

Shiekh Fatwalleta made no comment when asked what had happened to the former chairman, board of directors and management team at Bolton Wanderers but when pressed he did say that Jules Verne had inspired his decision on how to deal with the issue although he would not give any details.

The club is expected to make an announcement tomorrow concerning alleged violations of the Geneva Convention in which video footage of Bolton Wanderers matches and recent post match press conferences were apparently used in both Afghanistan and Iraq to make insurgent prisoners talk when all other methods had failed. The CIA has firmly denied any wrongdoing and stated that they did NOT pay Mr Gartside large bribes in order to have Mr Freedman appointed and they deny any similarity to the alleged "Operation Ginger Snap" where a previous Bolton manager's press statements were allegedly read to Saddam Hussein while he waited for his trial.

"Such behaviour would violate the Geneva Convention and International Law and as such we categorically deny that any such misconduct was carried out by any of our forces anywhere in the world." General Norman Schwartzkopf, Allied Commander of Operation Desert Storm said in an interview with CNN late last night. "Waterboarding, extraordinary rendition, sleep deprivation, yes, those were all legitimate interrogative tools but not even the most sadistic and psychopathic member of the CIA would use those horrific things." His hand visibly shook when shown DVD copies of Bolton Wanderers matches in the 2014/15 season along with their pre and post match press conferences.

Meanwhile back at The newly renamed New Burnden Park we are told that Sheikh Fatwalleta has paid all the club's debts from his lunch money and told the new chairman Sam Allardyce to use his tea money (estimated at around twenty billion dollars) to bring back Doris and start buying proper hobnob biscuits again while he nips home to find his spare impulse shopping cash before heading to a meeting with one Pep Guardiola somewhere in Germany after short stops in Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, and possibly London (where he will visit his youngest son's little corner shop to top up his mobile phone. We understand the shop is called Harrod's but this has not been confirmed as other sources believe it's called Fortnum and Mason.)

That's it here on Sky Sports News for now, join us after the break for an exciting  review of the world tiddlywinks championship final between O. Coyle (Scotland) and I Holloway (England). No interviews here as we won't understand a thing either of them would say anyway .... see you after the break ...
