The Leicester City boss, pictured, cited Wanderers’ charge up the league last season as a prime example of why there are still plenty of twists and turns left in the current campaign.
“We have always had confidence in ourselves but I think there are some very, very good sides in this division who haven’t quite hit top gear yet so it remains hard to predict who is going to do what,” he said. “Bolton finished the season last year with an unbelievable run; Derby have been on an amazing run of form as well.
“When you look at sides there is no great change in personnel. Momentum is an interesting thing in sport – both negative and positive, of course.”
Pearson expected Wanderers to be leading from the front after finishing last season so strongly.
“They are a decent side and have got good players,” he said.
“I think they have had probably half of the season where they would have expected to do better but we know from their run in the second half of last season what they are capable of.”
