The central midfield duo have both been building their fitness up in recent weeks after returning from long term injuries and are now considered available for first team action.
Speaking in his post-match press conference on Friday, manager Freedman is pleased to see the pair back and explained that the Wanderers team are in good spirits ahead of Sunday’s derby at the DW.
“We have good news that Josh Vela and Mark Davies will be available for selection this weekend. We have taken advice from the medical staff and they are at 95% now so we have a couple of additions to the first team squad.
“We have 4,000 fans coming across with us to Wigan and we are looking forward to the game. We are in good form apart from a couple of hiccups but they rose to the challenge against Doncaster.
“We are in good spirits and we can’t wait for Sunday’s game.
“They have a new manager and they are playing in front of their home crowd so the Wigan support will be fully behind their team. However, what it boils down to is that the players have to cross the white line and they are the ones that have to turn up.
“We have been very good on the road as of late and we are looking nice and strong at the back. We are attacking with good flair and we need to make sure we continue with the right results.
“Before the Middlesbrough result we were going well and overall it was a close game. We have to make sure we turn up at Wigan and once the whistle goes it is our job to put our game plan into action.”
