Against Leeds Bolton had less possession than their opponents, less corners and less shots yet still managed to win by five goals to one. Bolton had a total of just eight shots on target with a net busting five of those being goals! So what's changed? Is it the manager, the players, the tactics? Who knows for certain? But as long as Bolton's new found success in front of goal continues I don't think anyone will be looking back for too long - will they?
A lot of credit has to go to Dougie's recent signings, Mason, Jutkiewicz, Danns as well as his earlier signings, Spearing, Medo, Moritz - who, collectively, have become the backbone of the team during this mini good run. Those players, alongside Mark Davies seem untouchable at the moment and all are a step above the players they have come in for. The likes of Sordell, Ngog and even Eagles are not being missed in the slightest but the ride could get rough again when our loan signings and other players leave at the end of the season.
Dougie was delighted with the win and said "We were fantastic in both boxes, we controlled the game with our passing and I love it when a plan comes together - the results are now starting to match our performances".
Next up Bolton face Derby on Tuesday night where hopefully they can secure a fourth straight win which will see the Wanderers continue their late surge up the Championship table.
