1. Despite his foreign-sounding surname, Jutkiewicz was born in Southampton, England. His surname is of Polish origin, for whom he is eligible to represent internationally by way of his grandfather’s nationality.
2. Jutkiewicz is also eligible to play international football for the Republic of Ireland through his Irish grandmother.
3. He started his career in the Southampton academy. After being released as a youngster he played non-league football before signing professionally for Swindon Town.
4. Jutkiewicz’s senior debut came in 2007 at the age of 17 for Swindon Town, before just one year later he joined Everton for £1million.
5. Whilst with the Goodison Park club Jutkiewicz had loan spells with Plymouth Argyle, Huddersfield Town and Motherwell.
6. Whilst playing for Motherwell he scored a spectacular volley (see video below) to level up what to date is the highest scoring SPL game in history, a 6-6 draw with Hibernian.
7. Lukas joined Coventry permanently in the summer of 2010 before after some impressive form he was the subject of a rejected bid from Middlesbrough in the following summer.
8. Middlesbrough eventually got their man six months later, in January 2012, paying approximately £1.3million to Coventry.
9. During his time at Middlesbrough he has earned the nickname ‘The Juke’.
