Having seen his players fail to pick up maximum points during the opening months of the campaign, the former Wanderers midfielder led his youngsters to an emphatic 4-1 victory over their Molineux counterparts at Lostock last weekend.
With the win coming on the back of a heavy defeat to Sunderland the previous Saturday, Lee explained that the determination shown by his team to bounce back is proof of the quality which they currently have within the ranks.
"It was a fantastic all-round performance," he said following the final whistle. "We played with an exceptional intensity and it was the perfect response to last week’s result against Sunderland.
"We were all thoroughly disappointed after that game, but I had the belief in the players that they could bounce back.
"It was incredibly pleasing to see how they reacted despite such a disappointing result last time out, and I’m thrilled for the lads to finally get that win under their belts.
He added: “It is proof that with the right attitude, this team can turn anything around and it puts us in a great position ahead of the FA Youth Cup game against Sheffield United.”
David Lee and Tony Kelly’s side take on Sheffield United in the FA Youth Cup at the Reebok Stadium on Friday 13 December at 7pm. Entry to the game will cost £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
