An impressive outfit on their travels with impressive results such as a 7-2 win at Blackpool and a 6-2 victory over their Stoke counterparts under their belts, captain Cian Bolger and his side will be hoping to replicate their fine form and ruffle a few feathers when they take on Manchester City in midweek.
They will come up against a Blues side though who have won nine of their last 11 games in all competition, five of which have been in the U21 Barclays Premier League – form which has left them sixth in the league standings with 19 points from their eleven games so far.
Wanderers do however sit just a point shy of their opponents in ninth, but the club’s youngsters have played two games more than their Etihad counterparts.
Patrick Vieira’s side come into the clash on the back of a derby victory over Manchester United last Monday evening, while Wanderers secured a 3-2 win against their Aston Villa counterparts at Leyland on the same night.
With both teams having had no trouble in finding the back of the net this term – Bolton have notched 25 times in the league with City just behind them with 23 – Wednesday’s clash looks set to yield goals galore.
