Wanderers scoop all three points against Liverpool

Bolton Wanderers recorded their best win of the season yesterday evening with a scalp of almost the highest order. The Wanderers ran out 3-1 winners against the reds from Liverpool. While is wasn't their biggest winning margin of the season it was surely still their biggest win.
Not only was it 3 points which lifted Bolton out of the bottom three but we did it against Liverpool in style. There was almost a cup atmosphere in the ground and you could feel a buzz even before kick off. For some reason Bolton fans must have had 'a feeling' about this one as they packed the ground to near capacity with their biggest crowd of the season so far.
The Wanderers were refreshing to watch and it was more than just a win. The team spirit, belief and individual performances were something which we have been lacking all season.
Bolton were a goal to the good within four minutes when Mark Davies' mazy run into the box ended with a perfectly despatched finish into the corner. Eagles came agonizingly close to doubling the advantage on ten minutes when he flashed the ball across the face of goal after great work down the right. Before 30 minutes were on the clock Eagles had again worked the ball well with his team mates before chipping the ball into the box for Nigel Reo Coker to make it 2-0. Liverpool pulled a goal back before half time but it was not enough to rescue the reds and Gretar Steinsson rounded off the goals with a perfectly executed volley early in the second period.
There were a few hair raising moments and Liverpool had a fair few chances too but Bolton worked tirelessly and were deserving of their standing ovation at the full time whistle. Overall a fantastic and deserved win for Bolton who on their day showed just what they can achieve. Once again Mark Davies was brilliant in the middle of the park and Adam Bogdan in goal was just as good. They were two key players in what could be, finally, the turning
